  After extensive testing, GoCode was officially launched in the spring of 2006. GoCode is an innovative computer assisted coding product. In addition to automating SNOMED, ICD9 and CPT coding, GoCode fully automates E&M coding. GoCode currently supports ambulatory encounter notes in a wide variety of specialties, including Internal Medicine.

GoCode can reside safely inside your institution’s firewall or is available on a hosted basis.

GoCode is based on 15 years of R&D at the Mayo Clinic and is proven in implementations at other major institutions. GoCode uses an enhanced form of natural language processing (NLP) and a semantic approach to interpreting digital text inside a medical note. The results are a highly accurate and specific understanding of the meaning contained in the content, in spite of the various possible ways of expressing a finding or observation in a healthcare encounter. GoCode uses unstructured free text from clinical encounter notes, creates structured, fully codified output. Clinicians do not have to use templates or pick lists.
